The NCCER Instrumentation and Electrical Technical Diploma prepares students for careers installing, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting industrial instrumentation and electrical systems. Students complete NCCER Instrumentation Levels I-IV and NCCER Electrical Construction Levels I and II, developing competencies in process control systems, instrumentation drawings, tubing and piping systems, transmitters, controllers, control valves, calibration procedures, industrial troubleshooting, electrical circuits, wiring methods, conduit systems, and National Electrical Code fundamentals. Through extensive hands-on training, students gain practical experience working with the systems and equipment commonly used in manufacturing, petrochemical, refining, energy, and industrial facilities. Graduates are prepared for positions such as instrumentation technician, instrument fitter, instrumentation and electrical (I&E) technician, industrial maintenance technician, process control technician, and calibration technician. The program combines the technical skills required to support both instrumentation and electrical systems, making graduates versatile contributors in industrial environments. Students earn NCCER Instrumentation Levels I-IV and NCCER Electrical Levels I-II and may apply this credential toward the Associate of Applied Science in Instrumentation, which further develops communication, problem-solving, and technical competencies needed for career advancement.
