The Certificate of Technical Studies in Precision Machining provides students with the skills needed to be able to work on lathes, milling machines, precision-grinding equipment, computer numeric controlled (CNC) machines, and many other machine tools, all of which are state of the art and representative of what is used in the industry. The program prepares individuals to function as entry-level machinists and/or CNC operators.
Students completing the CTS in Precision Machining will obtain all of the NIMS certifications that are embedded in the Machinist curriculum: NIMS Precision Measurement, NIMS Basic Lathe, NIMS Advance lathe, NIMS Basic Mill, NIMS Advanced Mill, NIMS CNC and Microsoft Fusion360. All are industry-recognized credentials that make students more marketable in the workforce since possessing said credentials testifies to a student’s knowledge and skills.
