Topics include map design fundamentals, thematic mapping, statistical cartography, the relationship of mapping to GIS, essential elements of GIS, data acquisition and analysis, visualization of output, remotely sensed imagery and GIS, GIS functions and associated applications, and spatial decision support systems.
